Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is in accordance with The Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2017.

Wellbeing Animals Guernsey (WAG) may collect your postal address and telephone number, email address and information about your animals for the purpose of updating you with information about the charity and your membership. We may collect contact information from potential volunteers for their two character referees and retain the references received; this is required as part of our recruitment process. We may also collect contact information for placements where therapy animals are allocated. This information is required to arrange visits. If you agree to apply for an enhanced DBS certificate, we will handle your certificate information in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice and as set out in our DBS Certificate Policy which is available on our website.

Your data is stored on a spreadsheet and in our email system and kept for up to 6 years after you cease to volunteer for WAG or until you request it to be removed. Your data will only be accessed by the WAG committee members and our other volunteer assessors in Guernsey. We do not make the contact information available to anyone else or any other organisation. We may, with your permission, give your contact information to the manager or administrator of the establishment you will be working with – and vice versa.
